I love catching as many Retro Belles as possible now that the merger between Kansas City Southern and Canadian Pacific is complete. The crew does not have much time left to work, so the dispatcher is going to prioritize getting it in to Denver as quickly as possible. BNSF's manifest on the Moffat often consist primarily of tank cars, with this train being no different. There currently is no crew on the train and the derail on the siding is set. It arrived here about 10 hours ago, a little after 10pm the previous night. It continues to wait for a fresh crew that will take it the rest of the way in to Denver. The is typically called at North Yard at 1800, but on this day, it was called around 1200. Unfortunately, the 7,100 foot manifest has stopped because two units on the head end have mechanical issues. Shortly, the train will pull forward to clear west Rocky, then back down between switches on the siding. However, it would turn out the train could not fit between the west switch and the derail at the east end, so the train would back all the way down to (near) North Yard for a power swap. The Zephyr is running about two hours late this morning, and a few westbound freight trains have already come through, cleaning the snow off the rails. The train will come to a stop at the west end of the siding to wait for an eastbound loaded oil train which, currently at Crescent. Seven units on the head end, and a single DPU (facing in to the train), roll east on a clear (green) signal through Rocky. The train is currently stopped in the siding at Rocky. The train has no crew at the moment. A crew will show up to take the train in to Denver, but it could be anywhere from 4 to 24 hours before the crew actually appears.
