Unfortunately, the classic Rio Grande block signals at Chemical have been replaced by a single mast signal (with a head facing each direction). Regardless, this classic view at MP 14.5 still looks good with the Kansas on the back of the westbound Ski Train.

Running about two hours late, Amtrak 5 passes by Chemical (just west of Leyden) with the Denver Skyline in the background. Now that Amtrak no longer moves freight or mail, the California Zephyr is reliably two engines, a baggage car, and eight Superliners.
