Instead, an old Rio Grande signal displays a green signal, indicating the next three blocks are unoccupied. This signal is visible for US-85, and I have specific memories of looking at this signal when I would go out train chasing with my dad when I was a kid. Canadian Pacific was repaying BNSF some power miles in the form of two SD40-2s and a (SOO) SD60. The train is coming down through Hogan's Alley on Main 1. These train tend to be slightly underpowered and can be very slow climbing up to the Palmer Divide. Recently, BNSF has been running more of these trains with an additional manned unit on the tail end from Big Lift (south of Denver) to Palmer Lake.
