The GP49, the SD49, the GP50 and the SD50. The 49's were only 12-cylinder models and were rated at 2,800 HP. Alaska Railroad purchased nine GP49's (the only nine units to ever be produced), and EMD never did end up producing any SD49's. Here is one of the nine GP49's running DIC (Dead-In-Consist) on BNSF's HPASSAG. The unit was retired in 2006 and is now headed for Houston, TX.
