An empty BNSF rail train waits on the siding in Boulder for the northbound MDENLAU. The train was being led by two elephant-style UP C44AC-CTE's (Tier 1 compliant), complete with flags and wings!

Although the lighting is not perfect because the sun is on the opposite side of the train, I like the shot of an empty BNSF ballast train sitting in the siding at Boulder right at MP 27.

DRGW GP40-2 #3118 is the second of four units on the Rocky Local. The train is currently backing up (left to right in the picture) across Colorado Highway 72. DRGW 3118 has unforunately been "tagged" with some graffiti, but the good guys at Burnham tried to clean as much off as possible.

The Rocky Local has had to switch around as many as 75 cars lately at Rocky Flats. As a result, four GP40-2's currently work the local west out of Denver. On this day, DRGW 3126 was in the lead with a COMPLETE light package (MARS light and Class lights).
