The morning Zephyr heads west on the main at Eisele (Clay). Interestingly, the Zephyr has eight Superliners this morning! There is a third coach on the train. For many years before COVID, this was the standard on the Zephyr. Since COVID, it dropped to seven. Is this a one time thing, or a sign that demand has picked up and Amtrak is adding supply to accommodate? Time will tell...

AMTK 37 and AMTK 15 lead the Zephyr west on the main, approaching a clear (green) signal at the west end of Eisele (Clay).

I am hoping to get pictures of all the P42DCs (that haven't been scrapped) on Amtrak's roster before they are eventually retired. I was happy to find AMTK 37 leading the westbound Zephyr just west of Eisele (Clay) as it is one of the ones that I had not yet seen/shot!

A transition sleeper, two regular sleepers, a diner, a sightseer lounge, and three baggage cars (the middle of which is a baggage/coach car) make up the morning westbound Zephyr as it heads down the main at Plain. This is the first time in well over a year that I've seen eight Superliners on the Zephyr. Hope it becomes a regular thing!
