The crew that brought that train in last night stayed the night in a hotel and is now taking this Denver-Provo back west today. It had a pair of Kansas City Southern Belle's for power! Turns out that power was added as DPUs to the Provo-Lincoln yesterday! The BNSF manifests that run on the Moffat are almost entirely dominated by tank cars. Most of their trackage rights trains are probably 70%+ tank cars these days. A westbound Denver-Provo waits in the siding as an eastbound Provo-Lincoln rolls down the main. The train has actually been here for about five hours. BNSF had "no room at the inn", holding the train out here at Leyden until some space could be made. A new crew is onboard now, but DS-86 will get the eastbound Zephyr around the train before getting it a light to continue east. However, CN still identifies the former IC units on its roster. This C40-8W is one of only 42 such units Illinois Central had. Although it now wears standard Canadian National colors, a small "IC" is painted on the cab, indicating the heritage of the unit.
