The train is climbing out of Rocky, along the north edge of Big Ten Curve in some wonderful evening sunlight. A BNSF ES44C4 and two KCS units, elephant-style, are the power today. The train was projected to be called at 10am, but it ended up taking quite a bit longer before it was actually called. There is some colorful power on the headend of the train this evening. The train went into emergency in the Moffat Tunnel, but the crew was able to resolve the issue and continue east. Fortunately, the issue did not return. With the fall of ATCS, there is no real way to know when one might emerge, so it tends to be luck of the draw. The train is pulling in to Track 46. In the distance, Sunday morning traffic hustles along on I-25. BNSF 2549 is a GP39-3, rebuilt from a GP30. You can still see the GP30 dynamic brake intakes and two of the three radiator fans. Back in the distance on the next track over, you can see what was once an SD45-2, now an SD40-2. The power is sitting at the shop, just off of the main through Denver. Unlike UP, which simply slapped a yellow and red patch on the cabs. Nearly 30 years after the BNSF merger, a blue and yellow GP39-2 is seen hanging out around the Denver yard.
