It's nice to see that the siding at Leyden is once again empty and available for meets after a string of empty well cars were stored there for close to five months! Well cars were tied down there early on the morning of January 3, 2024. Overnight on May 27, 2024, they were picked up and taken back to Denver. Not too long ago, Ferromex unveiled a new paint scheme that focuses on gray. The old scheme had green in it, which is essentially been dropped in this new scheme. Prior to this shot, I had not seen one in person. This one was helping out as a DPU on an eastbound BNSF Provo-Denver manifest. The train was originally going to tie down at Cliff, but was too long for the siding. So it continued down to Rocky. Unfortunately, the crew van was not notified of the change and is waiting up at Cliff. The van has now been informed and is on its way to Rocky. Passengers on the westbound Zephyr will be able to look out to the hoppers on the right side, or over to the great plains out the left side.
