In a few minutes, the train will enter into the siding at Eisele (Clay), the track second away from the camera in the foreground. While it is only about 2,500 feet (as the crow flies) between the signals here at Eisele and the ones at Rocky, it is about 1.5 miles by rail to cover the distance (around Big Ten). This makes me happy as it is allowing me to get more pictures of them before they are inevitably repainted BNSF orange at some point. This shot makes the 12th MRL SD70ACe I've been able to shoot. Here, not long before noon, this eastbound BNSF oil train is heading almost directly into the sun as it slows to a stop on the main track at Eisele (Clay). It is waiting on a westbound UP oil empty that will take the siding. There is a BNSF manifest tied down on the siding at Rocky, so the meet had to be here instead. After running with only five coaches for a couple of trips, a sixth coach has been added back on. It was added at the same time AMTK 45 replaced AMTK 29 on the train. The train is setup in a push-pull configuration. I am not quite sure why that was the case. The train is crossing the 80th Avenue grade crossing, just east of Leyden. The Winter Park Express slowly rolls east by a red signal at East Leyden. Yes, the signal facing away from the camera for the train was indeed red when it passed. The train stopped and got authority for the dispatcher to proceed east. The dispatcher could not set up a signal for the train as there is a spurious track occupancy on the main between Leyden and Arvada.
