This is a GP10 of Illinois Central vintage. More recently, this little unit has served as one of two units on the Hollis Eastern. A railroad in southwestern Oklahoma that has about 13 miles of track total. I don't know why 50% of their motive power was in Denver on this day. However, this former GP30 is looking pretty sharp in the New Image scheme. It is a GP30 in appearance only. It has in fact been rebuilt into a GP39-2M. North Yard hostlers have cut out the mid-train helpers from this coal load on Main 2. The light power will be taken back to North Yard for servicing before likely returning west for additional helper service. Meanwhile, the crew from the coal train will back the front half of the coal train back to the rear half and hook it back up. Here, the front half of the train has been pulled forward beyond the signals of the Pecos Crossover. Now, hostlers from North Yard have a low yellow (diverging approach) signal and will crossover from Main 2 to Main 3 and take the power to the yard for servicing.
