Actually, while it still looks like an SD45-2 on the outside, the insides have been completely "revamped" and it is now an SD40-2 under the hood. A 16-cylinder engine and 3,000 horsepower. Amtrak received several of these units for use (as the name implies) in California. It is a rare find to find one of these outside that west coast state. A GP15-1 and a GP38-2 work to switch cars for the MDVGR (Denver, CO to Green River, WY) which would depart later in the day. These units are particularly good in yard service as they are not equipped with dynamic brakes. This makes them less useful as road power over much of UP's system.
