The fastest way to do this was via Prospect Junction and Union Station. From Union Station, the crew can shove the cars down to 36th Street. BNSF trains headed to or from the Joint Line cross the diamond (on one of the two main tracks). The Buck Main crosses the north end of the Joint Line, connection Union Station with Prospect Junction (and beyond). BNSF also uses the Buck Main to wye power. The sun, however, is in the western sky at this point as Amtrak is running about six hours late due to a BNSF derailment on the Brush Subdivision. They run seven days a week, save for Sundays. The ZDENCHI typically leaves early in the morning and this day was no exception. After meeting Amtrak at Prospect, the Z-Train departed Rennicks and is coming around the wye into 31st Street toward the Brush Sub.
