UP's MGRNY, which ran from Green River, WY to North Yard, CO arrived off the Greeley Sub and came across the Belt. But, instead of heading straight into North Yard, the train came across Bypass 2 and will wait for its counterpart, the MNYGR, to depart before backing into the yard.

If you look close, you might notice that there is something a little different about this westbound Zephyr compared to most that head west out of Denver. See it? Unfortunately, for the passengers on the train, there is no Sightseer Lounge car on the train. Instead, the train departed with two dining cars, the second acting as the lounge car for the trip.

This coal empty is crosses over I-70 as it heads north toward the connection to the Belt Industrial Lead where it will turn west. This is a scene that is radically different from what you wouldn't seen a decade earlier. At that time, I-70 passes over UP's tracks here on a stretch of bridge called the elevated deck. A massive project created a trench and I-70 is now below (normal) ground level. The tracks, of course, are at the same elevate they have always been at.
