The cab perhaps? You'd be correct! This is one of only five such units built and sent to Burlington Northern. The GP50 is equipped with a "crew cab" that can comfortably seat five crew members. The lighting is great there almost any time of day. So, I decided to try out a shot of a northbound on Main 2 on the east side of I-25. The GE ES44AC is becoming more and more prevalent on coal trains everywhere. Quite the change from five years ago when SD70MACs ruled all BNSF coal trains. Actually, while it still looks like an SD45-2 on the outside, the insides have been completely "revamped" and it is now an SD40-2 under the hood. A 16-cylinder engine and 3,000 horsepower.
