There was a little breeze, creating ripples in the pond, disrupting what would have otherwise been the perfect reflection shot. Ripples or not, this might have been my favorite shot of the day. The train is passing by Church Ranch "Lake", which dried up years ago and has really just been a field for quite some time. The train just passed through a Form B. You can see the "yellow/red" board on the side of the track, which indicates the Form B starts a mile to the south. Rennicks Yard represents BNSF's entire intermodal presence in Denver. Granted, it is not an insignificant yard, seen here form the north end. The crew is short on time, having to make it to the yard by 3:30pm, just one hour from the time of this photo. Fortunately, the maintenance has clear and the train has a signal to proceed east. BNSF's Golden Switch, which works industries between Golden and C&S Junction during the week, has its power taken to the yard in Denver on Saturday for servicing. While the steam train was prepping to make a reverse move out of the frame to the left, BNSF's Denver-Laurel manifest passes underneath UP's Greeley Sub. Something on the train sparked a couple of small fires along the right-of-way, one of which you can see burning off in the distance.
