Here, after 8:00pm, the head end of the westbound Zephyr is approaching the diamond at 23rd Street. In the distance, on the left side of the picture, note the eastbound Zephyr (running a few minutes late), preparing to back into Union Station. Unfortunately, a freight train that departed on the Brush Sub ahead of Amtrak got stuck at a red signal, delaying Amtrak about 10 minutes. had the delay not occurred, the sunset would have been a bit more spectacular!
