Loram's LRV-14 is referred to as a "Rail Vac". It is actually a huge, extremely powerful vacuum on rails. It is capable of sucking up anything along the right-of-way, up to 15 feet from the center of the rail. It is of used for sucking up old ballast that is going to be replaced. Here, it is being transported to Denver on UP's MGJNY.

It is a little hazy in the Denver-Metro area this morning as the Zephyr rushes away from the Denver skyline, toward a clear (green) signal at the east switch of Leyden.

After running several hours late the previous two days (due to extreme mid-west weather), this morning's Zephyr is running right on time as it heads west from Denver, through Arvada. Major forest fires in the Pacific Northwest are creating smoke that is resulting in the Denver-Metro area being very hazy. You can barely see the Denver skyline in the distance as the Zephyr approaches Leyden.

The westbound Zephyr is between Simms Street and 80th avenue, running right on time, on a beautiful Father's Day morning. The Denver skyline stands tall in the distance and you can see that the ditch lights are oscillating on the lead unit, horn blowing for the 80th Avenue crossing.

BNSF's Provo-Denver manifest is out of Leyden and approaching Simms Street in Arvada. The train briefly held in the siding at Rocky as BNSF's yard in Denver figured out if they had room for the train. DS-78 told the train they would move up to Tennyson Street (west of C&S Junction) and possibly tied down there.

The Provo-Denver, with a pair of GEs (including a "Frankenbonnet") on the end, pass through Arvada, crossing over Simms Street.
