After getting rid of the MNYRO and MRONY in December 2018, UP started running the MNYGJ and MGJNY, each three times a week. Typically, the MNYGJ departs after dark on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights. However, there were no rested crews in Denver last night! The first crew was rested at 12:15pm today, and the train was then called. Here, the manifest crosses Indiana Street coming out of the west end of Leyden. However, CN still identifies the former IC units on its roster. This C40-8W is one of only 42 such units Illinois Central had. Although it now wears standard Canadian National colors, a small "IC" is painted on the cab, indicating the heritage of the unit. Nope! This is actually the sole unit on the point of this eastbound unit covered hopper train! These are empty sand cars coming back east from Utah.
