Fog is thick in Denver as the Ski Train is getting ready to depart for Winter Park from track two. Meanwhile, Amtrak 5 is backing into track one, running an amazing 40 minutes early!

Weather in Colorado is never predictable. Case in point: the high temperature in Denver on this Spring day was 55 degrees. In Winter Park, the snow was horizontal and you couldn't see more than 200 yards away! Passenger hurry to get off the train and head for the slopes.

During a brief pause in the storm, the sun shines on the Ski Train, sitting in the siding at Fraser, waiting for 3:15pm to roll around so the train can head back to Winter Park.

Passenger walk along car 4 toward the front of the train, looking for their respective cars. The train stops here at the base of Winter Park for up to 30 minutes (until 4:15pm) to load passengers.

It's 57 mile journey from Winter Park back to Denver, the Ski Train passes DS 002 on the main track just east of North Yard.

After a day on the road (and running on time), the Ski Train rests in track two at Denver Union Station. The last of the passenger have just left the train now at 7:00pm.
