Well, the schemes themselves are the same (Amtrak's Phase V), but the shade of blue appears quite different. It could simply be a matter of how dirty AMTK 194 is. Of interest, there is a private car behind the power and ahead of the baggage car. This is somewhat unusual as private cars on the Zephyr are typically on the tail end of the train. The spur hasn't been used in close to a decade, and in 2017, UP removed the frog for this turnout. It allows for a smoother, safer ride for any train crossing over it. To smooth out the ride and reduce the risk of a derailment, UP removed the frog from the turnout in 2017. As you can clearly see, the remainder of the spur is not entirely inaccessible by rail. Meanwhile, a rather significant thunderstorm has formed over the Rockies and is moving out on to the plains in the distance.
