Glenwood actually has two siding. The track to the right is the East Siding and the track to the left is the West Siding. The mainline runs down the middle between the two. The slow order is due to the extreme heat and the concern of sun kinks is the rails. The Craig Branch, leading to Energy and Axial mines, peals away from the main line here. The train has just emerged from Tunnel 39 and is heading for the east portal of Tunnel 40, just ahead of the train out of the frame. The Zephyr will be following the Colorado River, for the most part, for the next 200 miles or so, through Ruby Canyon in Colorado and Utah. The siding makes a sharp curve to the left (when heading west) and there is a very large separation between siding at main. This is because there is a wye here and, at one point, this where helpers were station to cut in to heavy eastbound trains for the final shove up to the Moffat Tunnel. Here, the train is making its station stop at Fraser on the main track. The engineer just gave a blast on the horn, telling passenger that stepped off to stretch their legs that it is time to get back onboard. After a two hour delay at East Portal, the crew is doing what they can to make up time and get passenger in to Denver and points east. That was due to a defective gondola, which has been set out in the house track to the left. The dispatcher let the eastbound Zephyr and BNSF's Provo-Denver around the coal load through the siding before also getting the coal load a clear signal to finally proceed east. The Zephyrs are meeting at East Portal, just a mile or so east of the Moffat Tunnel. Typically, the Zephyrs meet about 100 miles to the west. The train has been stuck here for nearly two hours due to a coal train that broke down at Rollins 13 hours earlier. It took a long time to get the coal train back together.
