It was a cold and snowy day in Colorado. The lead unit was a patch Santa Fe SD40-2 and the second unit was a very nice SD75M painted in Warbonnet! The military train was carrying support vehicles (trucks and hummers). With the two green and white SD40-2's for power, this looks like it could have been taken 10 or even 20 years ago! The second and third units are from the two best-selling series EMD has ever produced (albeit there is a 30 year gap between the 70-series and 40-series). In fact, the power was extremely unique, with a BNSF warbonnet leading, followed by brand new KCS SD70ACe (#4009) and the BNSF 7920. Such was the case on this day as BNSF 4479 (on the former ATSF grade; main one) "meets" with a northbound manifest (on the former DRGW grade; main two) just south of Larkspur.
