BNSF's manifest typically have three units on the head end, but today, there are four units leading the train in to Denver. The first, of course, being a visitor from the north. At this point, however, Canadian Pacific no longer exists. The merger with Kansas City Southern has been official for a little over a year, and the new railroad is now CPKC. The train, which has a good looking Warbonnet on the head end, is headed for Provo, UT. Once there, the power will eventually return back to Denver, likely on the Provo-Denver. BNSF 766, the third unit on the Denver-Provo, is a great example. Granted this unit is actually lettered for BNSF, which means it happened after the merger in 1995, Warbonnets being lettered with BNSF only happened briefly after the merger. Note the incredibly large radiator housing on the back of the second unit. These days, it is pretty common for the BNSF manifests on the Moffat to run with New Image, 3x2 power. Although it is not leading, seeing a Warbonnet on the train is a nice sight to see in 2024.
