The train approaching the camera is on Main Two and has just received a fresh crew in Cheyenne. The train to the left is crossing from Main Three to Main Four, heading for a crew change itself. This overpass is right at the east end of the yard. SD40-2 #3150 is sandwiched in between two sets of hoppers as its RCL crew works to rearrange the cars. It was painted in a scheme reminiscent of Air Force One. It was so-painted in honor of the George HW Bush Presidential Library, which had a special section on trains (and their history) in America. Nearly three years later, I was finally lucky enough to catch this unit on the point of a manifest approaching Cheyenne on UP's Overland Route. Here, Amtrak 5 is on rails seldom seen by Amtrak since the end of the San Francisco Zephyr, approaching Speer Junction (about to pass under Terry Ranch Road), just a few miles in Wyoming north of Colorado.
