Coal trains use the Brush Sub to head toward the Power River Basin in Wyoming. This coal empty is just a few miles north of Brush running on an approach signal. The last four units here are idling, apparently in a power move. UP does this quite often, particularly on the Moffat, but I haven't seen it on BNSF very often. Here, the train is on the approach to Sand Creek with a nice set of power on the point. An SD75I in Warbonnet on an SD70MAC in Green and Cream lead the train. An SD75I - with a very nice Warbonnet scheme - leads up the train. The conductor on the ground is preparing to cut the units away from the auto racks. An unfortunate accident in the Chicago area on BNSF resulted in a fatality. Amtrak was delayed due to the resulting NTSB investigation.
