A beautiful March day in Colorado with temperatures in the upper 50's found the BNSF MLAUDEN-03 coming south on the Front Range Sub. The train was being led by BRAND new "GEVO" ES44DC BNSF 7688. A second "Evolution Series" GE units was DPU'd on the back of the train.

This southbound BNSF coal load has some very interesting (and colorful) DPU power on this day. A "green and cream" BNSF SD70MAC and "Flagged" UP AC4400CW-CTE bring up the rear in run eight just north of Sedalia.

A beautiful snow-capped Longs Peak rises high above in the background as this southbound coal load is about to split the signals at Kalamath Street. The train will crossover at South Denver from Main Two to Main One and continue south toward the Joint Line.

Just a few minutes before sunset, this westbound MDENPRO highballs Leyden with the Denver skyline visible in the distance. The four units on the train each wore a different paint scheme: Heritage 2, Warbonnet, Heritage 1, and Blue Bonnet. The fourth ("Blue Bonnet") unit is a GP60, BNSF 8716.

The only two regular freights on BNSF's Front Range Sub in the MDENLAU and MLAUDEN. On the first Monday of 2005, however, there was a VPTLDEN that was running south on the Front Range Sub. It was led by BNSF 4999. Here, the train is passed under Foothills Pkwy at MP 32.

On the extreme east end of the DRGW, the Belt Main track passes under the former BN main north out of Denver. Today, a BNSF coal empty heads out of Denver over the Belt Main on the BNSF Brush Subdivision.
