Nine units lead the MGJNY (Manifest, Grand Junction to North Yard) toward a clear signal at the west switch of Eisele (Clay). Granted only three of the units are actually online. The trailing six units are simply catching a ride on the train!

Between the implementation of PSR (Precision Scheduled Railroading) on UP and the decline of coal, unit coal trains are becoming increasingly rare on the Moffat. However, they have not completely vanished as is evidenced by this westbound empty coming through the west switch at Eisele (Clay).

UP 1996 was the second out on the westbound MNYGJ. The train was originally called for 20:30 the night before, but the train was delayed for unknown reasons and ended up departing in the morning. The train is passing the west switch of Eisele here.

At the west end of Clay, AMTK 145 has the Zephyr making its way west on an clear signal. The train will meet a BNSF manifest at Plain.
