The curves between the west end of Clay and Tunnel 1 are some of the best anywhere! Train crews don't often get the chance to observe their train as well as they can here. The MRONY wraps through the curves. The head end is approaching the Blue Mountain grade crossing while the tail end of the train still emerges from Tunnel 1. The back end of the train is almost 100 feet higher than the lead unit!

The MNYPV-06 heads west at Blue Mountain with four units that are all different, but all somewhat the same! The first two units are both SD70Ms and are virtually identical save for the radiator flare on the second unit. The third unit is an SD70ACe and the fourth unit is an SD9043MAC. All with the same basic prime mover. The fourth unit, UP 8242, is the only SD9043MAC on UP's roster to have the lightning bolt scheme with the full wings on the nose.
