The Grand Junction crew could only make it as far as Rollins, and it took some time for BNSF to get a fresh crew up to take the train the rest of the way. Most oil trains head west to load in Utah, and then return loaded. This one, however, is coming east empty. The train originated in Salt Lake City. If you noticed what looks to be pink or purple on a Superliner toward the back of the train, you are correct! The reason being that the train is actually relatively short. It is only 74 cars in length, so the third unit was not needed. Ironically, the train would end up getting stuck at Tennyson Street (just west of C&S Junction) for over four hours, waiting to get in to North Yard!
