That may seem like a lot, but when you consider the immediate predecessor (ES44AC/DC/C4) had 6,451 units produced, you can see the difference. It is somewhat surprising that, after four years, BNSF has not yet paint or swapped out the long hood on the unit to get back to a uniform scheme.
