It will had a complete light package and the horn was located above the cab, not the long hood. Unfortunately, this picture was taken about six month before 5355 was repainted in armor yellow. At this point, the Ski Train was still running with the three Rio Grande GP60s (3154, 3155 and UP 5702). On this afternoon, the train had been specially chartered (I do not recall by whom or for what purpose). The train just met an eastbound coal load and is charging west in the afternoon sun. A hawk (or falcon? I'm not a bird expert!) circles around above the train, appreciating its beauty. Or, you might suggest it is simply looking for a meal... This (along with DRGW 3003) was the longest-lasting GP30 on the roster, remaining on UP's active roster until retirement on July 30, 1999. DRGW 3002 was also one of only four Rio Grande GP30's to receive the large letter paint scheme (along with 3001, 3014, and 3027).
