BNSF 630 is one such example. Other than the patch on the cab, this Warbonnet never wore the BNSF livery. And now, as you can see, the long hood has largely been repainted silver. It is far more common to find some ES44s in the mix! However, the such a trio of 90s power leads here, second out being a former Santa Fe Warbonnet. Meanwhile, the westbound BNSF Denver-Provo knocks down a clear signal at the east switch of Leyden. The train is the first of two westbounds coming out of Denver back-to-back this morning. A couple inches of snow fell overnight, making the middle of April look a bit more like the middle of January! For those not from the area, Arvada was designed from the start as a residential city. The town of roughly 120,000 people has zero industrial zones and only light commercial aside from the residential. Makes for a fairly quiet and nice place to live. The tracks are raised on a bit of a fill here, making it impossible to see the lake from Oberon Road, which parallels the tracks, but lower by several feet. The train will head down Main 1 at Arvada, then cross over to Main 3 at Pecos and run down the main along North Yard to Fox Junction, where it will get lights over to the Joint Line.
